YSTRA - Dedicated to Preserve, Protect , Improve and Expand existing horse campgrounds and the horse trail network in the Yankee Springs recreation area and surrounding areas for use by horsemen, their families and the general public for horse riding and camping.
Located in Yankee Springs Recreation Area in Southwest Michigan.
We are a circle of friends who enjoy food, fun, and riding our beautiful trails together. We would love to have you join us for fun and relaxation... after all, the circle of friends can never get too big.
Lots of help got this project to completion, Tom Chaffee excavated a flat area in front of pavilion for this to be placed. Todd Peters, the originator of this project, sought out and donated the majority of materials. Dick Smith, Kathy Taylor, Carla Walker and Skip Burger worked out design and were instrumental for construction. John Letts, and I were grunt labor. This is furnished totally by Yankee Springs Trail Riders Association, Inc. (YSTRA). This is the type of improvements that membership moneys help to create.

In 2012, Adopt-A-Highway volunteer groups reported collecting about 65,000 bags of trash, a cost benefit to the state of Michigan $5.6 million. This is one way Yankee Springs Trail Riders give back to their community.
At the State Capital!
YSTRA at our State Capital on Michigan Trails Legislative Day to meet with State Representatives to request Legislature to: Uphold the continuation of the Natural Resources Trust Fund, Support the continued development of horse trails, and fund the development of a uniform trails database.
Winner of the Costume Parade
YSTRA giving Cancer Families United a $514.00 check. This donation was made possible with our Euchre tournament which raised $257.00. YSTRA matched this amount.
